Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has observed that some persons who feel embittered by the fact he speaks the truth irrespective of who is involved, are finding it extremely difficult to let the past slide, MyNewsGh.com has filed.
He admitted he has stepped on so many toes based on his public commentary on happenings in the country but said it was in the interest of the nation he made those comments.
“I know I have stepped on a lot of toes, I try as much as I can to speak the truth and in the course of that you hurt people’s feelings and I know they can’t forgive you”, he said at the launch of an economic empowerment women group dubbed Ti-Deltaa.
The lawmaker who said he is unfazed by persons who have refused to let off the past but will continue to pursue him because he spoke the truth in matters they are directly or indirectly involved in, promised he was not going to back down on speaking his mind.
“In the larger picture and in the interest of mother Ghana, I will continue to try as much as I can to defend the ordinary people in society”, he said.
While thanking the Chief and people of the Lawra Traditional Area for bestowing on him the honour of a development chief, he promised to contribute his quota to see the facelift of the area in the future indicating that Lawra has become his second home.
“Today indeed is a great day in my political career. I am short of words what the Paramount Chief of Lawra has done…the honour done to me this afternoon. Indeed, it is not everybody that gets the opportunity to be honoured in life whilst he lives. Some are honoured when they die. Some when they are dead people shower praises. I want to thank God to live and see how Ghanaians appreciate my efforts”, Kennedy Agyapong stated.
