Jamasi (Ash) Feb.28, GNA- Members of the Jamasi Town Council, have appealed to the Afigya Sekyere District Assembly to revoke the indefinite suspension it slapped on three members of the Assembly. The appeal was contained in a letter signed by 11 members of the Council and copied to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ashanti Regional Minister and traditional rulers in the District. The District Assembly suspended Mr Mike Manu, Mr Agyemang Prempeh Marfo and Mr Amin Alhassan on September 28,2004, due a land dispute between the Jamasi Council and the Sekyere Rural Bank Limited in Jamasi in court. The three were suspended because they failed to use their influence as members of the Assembly and the Town Council to withdraw the case from court. The letter by the Council to pursue the land case was in conformity with the moral responsibility to defend and protect the property of the town. The letter said the continued suspension of the three members would undermine the development of the area.
