Ashaiman (GAR), Dec. 5, GNA - The Lebanon branch of the Church of Christ has celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a call on Ghanaians to be law abiding and be at peace with one another in the forthcoming elections.

Mr Nathaniel Adams, Project Director of the Church of Christ Rural Water Development Project (RWDP), who made the call stressed that peace is the most important thing needed in the country during the elections. "If we learn to be at peace with one another, there will not be any tension in the country that could lead to clashes," he said adding that at the end of the day the results must be accepted.

He advised Christians to also avoid unnecessary arguments, which could easily lead to fights during or after the elections. Mr Adams said as part of its social responsibilities, the Church of Christ established the Church of Christ RWDP, a non-Governmental Organisation to provide potable water to villages especially the guinea worm endemic communities.

He said since its inception in 1989, it provided more than 300 boreholes to over four million people across the country, mostly in the North.

The NGO has also undertaken special hygiene volunteer programmes in schools and villages to help promote good health in the country, he said.
