Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has debunked reports that 8 CEOs have been sacked by President Akufo-Addo.

"Government has not written to any CEO to retire… it’s not true" the minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency said.

The minister who was speaking in an interview on Peace FM morning show 'Kokrokoo' with host Kwami Sefa Kayi said government would have issued a statement to that effect.

“Government has not written to any CEO to retire…it’s not true. We need to be cautious in our reportage. There’s no such direction to these CEOs. It is only one person who has been engaged in such matters. These are senior members so it will not be surprising for anyone to come out with such stories but as at this morning; no such order has been given” he indicated.

He has also in the spirit of fighting fake news, urged the media to crosscheck any information made available to them before making it public.

Rumors making the rounds indicate that eight Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have been asked to leave office by March 2019.
