Oasis Montessori marks fifth anniversary
Professor Kwame Karikari, the board Chairman of Oasis Montessori School, has advised parents to assist their children to cultivate the habit of reading and make books their companions.
He has, therefore, called on parents to make time for their children so that they can continue to support them to perform well in school.
Prof. Karikari was speaking at the fifth anniversary celebration of the Oasis Montessori School at Teshie Greda Estates in Accra. The theme for the celebration was: “Inspiring a passion for learning.”
The event was marked with spectacular performances such as poetry recitals, choreography and a drama on the theme: ''A vision made reality.”
The Director of the school, Mrs Christine-Marie Nyantakyi, commended the parents for their continued support for their children’s education in the school.
She praised the teachers for their tireless efforts in moulding the character of the children under their care.
Mrs Nyantakyi said the school began with nine children, but the number had now increased to more than 500.
The Host of the Standpoint, a television programme on Ghana Television, Oheneyere Awo Dansoa I (popularly known as Gifty Anti), called on parents to bond with their children and serve as role models for them.
She pointed out that teachers were helping to mould and teach children and all parents should also honour their responsibilities to their children as expected.
The PTA donated a trombone, two trumpets, four guitars, two keyboards and 20 flutes to the school.
