Public Interest Advocate, Frank Aboagye Danyansah has a fired a shot at the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah over the latter's stance on an exposé on a supposed militant group affiliated to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that was allegedly receiving some form of military training at the Osu Castle.

He observed that the respected former broadcast journalist turned politician in recent times has been caught lying to the shock of many Ghanaians who know him, wondering when he started with such behavior.

“Is Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah trying to tell us he does not believe Manasseh Azure [the investigative journalist who did the report] now?” Mr. Danyansah asked during panel discussion monitored by MyNewsGh.com on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

According to Mr. Frank Aboagye Danyansah, it is weird to hear from the Information Minister, who used to work with Multimedia Group Limited as a broadcaster in his press statement that the investigative piece of his former colleague is untrue.

“This is intellectual dishonesty on the part of Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah who used to work with Manasseh Azure during his days as a broadcaster”, Frank Aboagye Danyansah fumed.

Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah while reacting to the documentary last week, said in a press statement dated 8th March 2019 that the Manasseh’s documentary was a 'malicious' misrepresentation of facts and lacks evidence to support the narrative that President Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP are sponsoring a militia group.

In the five-page statement, government refuted claims that ‘De-Eye’ is a militia group being sponsored and trained by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Osu Castle.

It described the investigative piece as one that falls short of the journalism standards and it only puts together conjuncture, malice, mischief, sensationalism and invalidated suspicions, presented to the Ghanaian people as truth.
