Accra, Dec. 5, GNA- The National Union of Adaklu Students and Association (NUASA) on Wednesday appealed to President John Agyekum Kufuor to personally intervene in the protracted dispute over the creation and naming of Adaklu Anyigbe District in the Volta region. The students' body, in a petition to President Kufuor, urged the executive to revisit the issue as "no amount of sugar coated words from the powers that be from the region can deny the fact that the district is not worthy of what it was perceived to be."

Accra, Dec. 5, GNA- The National Union of Adaklu Students and Association (NUASA) on Wednesday appealed to President John Agyekum Kufuor to personally intervene in the protracted dispute over the creation and naming of Adaklu Anyigbe District in the Volta region. The students' body, in a petition to President Kufuor, urged the executive to revisit the issue as "no amount of sugar coated words from the powers that be from the region can deny the fact that the district is not worthy of what it was perceived to be." The NUASA referred to the recommendations of the Electoral Commission, the Asogli Traditional Council, the Volta Region Houses of Chiefs, Parliamentary Committee on Subsidiary Legislation and the Hansard of July 8, 2004 as well as the petition of the people of Adaklu to the Parliament two years ago, which maintained that the capital of Adaklu Anyigbe District should be at Adaklu-Waya instead of Kpetoe. 5 Dec. 07
