Rampant road accidents attributed to spiritual forces

Ho, Aug. 21, GNA - The Reverend Lovelace Tetteh, Pastor of Word of Life Christian Centre, Ho, on Sunday called on Churches to join forces in prayer to reduce the rampant road accidents in the country. He attributed most accidents in the country to be spiritual in nature and needed a stronger spiritual power to counter them. Rev. Tetteh made the call at a thanksgiving service to climax the youth week celebration of the "Road Safety and Youth Development Club" in Ho.
He said that public education on the phenomena was important, but "purposeful prayer" was needed to "overpower any gallon planted in vehicles to suck blood".
Rev. Tetteh said that many accidents happened in the spirit realm before manifesting in the physical world.
He stated that reckless driving and drinking before driving were all spiritual battles, which needed to be fought by Christians.
"We Christians therefore need to stand in to stop all satanic influenceses on our road users to keep the road safe," Rev. Tetteh said. Mr Emmanuel Agbele, Executive Member of the club noted that currently Ghana came third after South Africa and Nigeria in road accidents in Africa.
He said the situation was frightening thus the need for concerted effort from all to fight the phenomena. Mr Agbele observed that some accidents were difficult to understand and expressed the hoped that "with Christ in the boat, we can smile at the storm".
