The ‘Concerned Bawku Youth Association’ based in Bawku of the Upper East Region have appealed to President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to leave out Bawku in his political appointments.

The Youth expressed displeasure that Bawku Central had been left out of the appointments of Ministers, Deputy Minister, as well as other relevant areas of the government, saying the area had always been faithful to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The youth said this in a press statement signed by an eighteen-member executive of the Association including, Imoro Bolnaba Issah, Gumah Mahamudu, Salifu Marwan Zanya, Shaibu Muniru Jabun, Seidu Safianu, Awal Issahaka and Mustapha Abass.

The rest are Nuhu Rafia, Norga Fuseini, Luke Paul Kariama, Issahaka Nashiru, Yussif Abdul-Fatuwu Adam, Abdulai Faruk, Sadat Bawre, Sulemana Barhama and Bagura Majeed, and copied the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Bawku to plead with the President to reconsider the area.

The statement said the Bawku Central Constituency had contributed significantly in both human and financial resources to making sure the Party’s political fortunes continued to soar in the upper East Region and the country as a whole.

It noted that the constituency had always been the largest contributor of votes in the Upper East Region since the inception of Multi-party democracy in 1992.

It said the people of the area were surprised and disappointed that no body from the Bawku Central had been given political appointment and that did not augur well for the Party in the Constituency.
