SSNIT Hands Over Housing Units
The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has handed over eight housing units costing ?360 million to the Ahanta West District Assembly at Agona-Nkwanta in the Western Region. Each of the two-bedroom houses is valued at ?45 million.
The project, which was started by SSNIT in 1996 and completed in 1998, was under its District Level Housing Project. The assembly provided the land.
Handing over the houses to the assembly, the Area Manager of SSNIT in charge of the Western and Central Regions, Nana Barimah Ansu-Adjei, said the project is aimed at assisting district assemblies to solve their housing problems.
He said the Ahanta West District Assembly is to pay a quarterly instalment of ?60 million to the SSNIT until the total cost is paid off.
