The Asesewa and Kwahu Bepong Senior High Schools in the Eastern Region have been hit by rainstorm disaster ripping off the roofs of multipurpose dining halls in the two schools forcing students to eat in the open.
Both dining Halls in the two schools also serve as Assembly, Entertainment and Examination Halls due to inadequate infrastructure making the facilities essential in the schools.
The incident at Asesewa SHS occurred May 9, 2019 after 6 hours of rainstorm. Apart from the dining hall, some classrooms were also affected.
According to School Authorities, a total of 1500 students who use the dining hall now eat under trees.
Already, Asesewa SHS is facing serious infrastructural challenges.
Meanwhile, at Kwahu Bepong Senior High School, the incident has affected many activities on campus since the uncompleted dining hall serves as a multipurpose facility.
School Authorities have appealed to NADMO to intervene immediately with packets of roofing sheets having visited the schools for assessment to re-roof it in the earnest.
