Tema, Dec. 25, GNA -- The Reverend David Nabegmado, Senior Pastor of Central Assemblies of God Church at Tema on Saturday called on political leaders to bury their difference and unite to ensure the rapid growth of the nation's young democracy.

Delivering the sermon to mark this year's Christmas, he said the socio-economic growth of the country depends largely on the unity of the people and this should start from the leadership down to the grassroots. He therefore, urged politicians to place the interest of the nation above their individual interest, put the past behind them and let the birth of Christ Jesus and the message of Christmas foster unity amongst them to champion a better course.

It is only by this that the great nation can discover its true potential, he said, and asked Ghanaians to let the yuletide with all its good tidings be an opportunity for them to rise to the challenges ahead. To the youth, Rev. Nabegmado advised against allowing themselves to be lured into doing things that do not glorify God, noting that on occasions like this they indulge in vices, which have devastating backlash that could jeopardize their future.

He admonished drivers to be extra careful on the roads and refrain from drinking alcohol, speeding, unnecessary overtaking and reckless driving to prevent the loss of lives through accidents. At the Saint Paul's Methodist Church, the Superintendent Minister of the Tema Methodist Circuit, Very Rev. Henry Ampaw-Asiedu called on Ghanaians to show love to one another irrespective of their ethnicity, religion, cultural ties and social status.

This would bring understanding, fellowship and true brotherhood among the populace so that the peace would permeate in our lifestyles to exemplify the true meaning of Christmas.
