Funeral held for all three victims
On Sunday, 16th June 2019, a mechanic by name Fatau, driving a Toyota Corolla with registration number CR 785-19, ran over four (4) children walking by the roadside killing three (3) on the spot at Twifo Praso.
The three (3), Abigail Asare 6years, Ebenezer Arthur 14years and Rabbidus Arthur 11 years were returning from their maize farm, where they met their untimely death.
Abigail Asare was the only child of her parents' whiles Ebenezer Arthur and Rabbidus Arthur were two of three brothers.
The fourth, who is said to be the third of the two brothers sustained injuries and was treated and discharged.
The fourth casualty, a woman and a passenger of the accident car, the Toyota Corolla sustained injuries and was referred to the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital where she died.
The mechanic was according to an eyewitness was said to be fidgeting with his phone when the incident happened.
He was said to have fixed the car and was going on a trial. It is also confirmed that he has no driver’s license.
The mother of late Abigail Asare could not hold herself and wept uncontrollably. "She was my only child", she said.
The three children were laid to rest on 11th July 2019, nonetheless, the driver is still at large.
