Three die and 23 injured in an accident near Suhum

Suhum (E/R), Feb. 16, GNA- Three people died on the spot and 23 others seriously injured when a 207 Benz bus crashed into a stationary cargo truck with registration number GT 3189 H at Kabo hill near Suhum in the Eastern Region.

Chief Superintendent Awoni, District Commander of the Ghana Police at Suhum who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the Benz bus with registration number AS 7290 W was travelling from Kumasi to Accra and in an attempt to avoid a headlong collision with an incoming articulator truck which was overtaking another vehicle, ran into the stationary truck.

The dead who are yet to be identified have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital morgue, while the injured persons are on admission at the same hospital.

Chief Superintendent Awoni appealed to the general public to help identify the deceased.
