Wa, Sept. 18, GNA - The National Youth Employment Coordinators in the Upper West Regional have been provided with LJM motorcycles to enable them to carry out their operations effectively.
The motorcycles would enable them to facilitate the movement of the Coordinators to monitor the operations of the youth engaged in agriculture projects in the communities to ensure that farm inputs provided them were not diverted to other destinations. The Upper West Regional Minister, Mr. George Hikah Benson, presenting the motorcycles to the Regional Liaison Officer of the National Youth Employment Programme, Mr. Mohammed Abdulai Sidik said since the inception of the Programme in 2007, government realised the need to provide the coordinators with means of transport to enhance their operations.
He urged the beneficiaries of the motorcycles to put them to good use to enhance productivity in the agricultural sector for other youth to take to farming.
Mr. Sidik expressed appreciation to the government for providing the coordinators with motorcycles, which, he said, would help address the challenges of mobility and encourage them to offer quality work. He said with the provision of the motorcycles, the coordinators would be able to enhance their supervision to increase food crop production.
