The District Chief Executive for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Ransford Nyarkoh, says plans are underway to construct a new Oil Palm factory at Essiam in the Central Region to help reduce the post harvest losses encountered by farmers in the production of palm fruits.

According to him, feasibility studies have also been conducted to know that the district is favourable for the cultivation of cassava to be used for a starch factory in the district to achieve the government's policy of One District One Factory.

Mr. Nyarkoh who gave that information in an exclusive interview with a Radio Ghana Correspondent in Koforidua, said, the Assembly is also looking at the quarry potentials in the area and venture into it to help create more jobs for the citizens, especially the youth to reduce the rural--urban drift as well as the unemployment challenges.

He said the traditional rulers and other custodians of land have embraced the idea and expressed their readiness to release acres of land for such projects which will benefit them as individuals and the nation in general.

Mr. Nyarkoh advised all and sundry to bring their expertise on board to help realize the dreams of government to move Ghana forward economically and politically.
