Open defecation persists in Ghana despite continuous education about its effect on society

The Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem (KEEA) Municipal Assembly in the Central region has arrested 13 individuals in the early hours of Wednesday, January 17 for open defecation along some beaches at Komenda.
The 13 persons arrested include Shadrach Atakorah, 16; Beatrice Nelson, 16; Samuel Mensah, 72 and Hannah Mensah, 19 among others.
Mr Alex Damptey, KEEA Municipal Environment Officer confirmed the arrests in an interview with Kweku Bee Abrante of Okokoroko FM in Cape Coast.
He added that the persons are being processed for court.
