A Volta Regional Women Organiser hopeful for the New Patriotic Party, Hannah Ashade, has been involved in a vehicular accident in the early hours of Saturday, 21st April, 2018 off the Hohoe - Santrokofi road.
Miss Ashade who was rounding up campaign activities, meeting delegates ahead of the Volta Regional Delegates Congress to reinforce her campaign messages had her vehicle ran into a stationed articulator packed on the shoulder of the road.
The Dodge Caliber vehicle registered GW 1750 - 15 in which the regional organiser hopeful was traveling with two members of her campaign team had its front bumper, fender and bonnet damaged.
However, she is in a stable condition but complained of a severe pain in the neck and bodily aches. Medical officers at the Hohoe Municipal Hospital said Miss Hannah’s blood pressure (BP) was high hence must remain in a resting position until it normalises.
“I am confused, I can’t really tell what happened, all I saw was we hit the rear of an articulator head packed along the road. If not for the airbags, we would have been with our ancestors by now. But my God is a living God”, she narrated with tears streaming down her cheeks.
Nevertheless, she called on the delegates “to keep hopes alive” and vote for her to ensure her vision of “empowering and building a strong women front for the NPP in the Volta Region” are realised.
Miss Ashade’s Campaign Manager, Millicent Nanayaa Sokro, suffered a dislocation of the right rips and lips swollen while Comfort Gorni, a member of the campaign team had her forehead swollen.
Hannah Ashade is contesting 3 other aspirants for the position of Volta Regional Organiser.
Injunction on Volta Regional Executives Elections
Meanwhile a disqualified Volta Regional NPP Chairman aspirant, George Kofi Boateng, has secured an injunction on today’s executive elections.
Mr Boateng a former Regional Secretary was part of 4 out of 36 individuals aspiring for the various regional executive positions who were disqualified after facing a vetting panel chaired by Bob Charles Agbonto.
Mr Boateng therefore filed an exparte motion stating he was unfairly disqualified.
The Ho High Court 2 presided over by Justice Eric Baah granted the injunction.
Nevertheless, the premises of the St Francis Education College serving as venue for the delegates congress has been flooded with campaign materials of the various aspirants. Accreditation are being issued with the delegates trouping in for the Congress.
Some aspirants have indicated they are unaware of the injunction hence the election would come off.
