TARSCO old students rescue alma mater with 70 mono desks

The Past Students Association of Tarkwa Senior High Secondary School has donated a set of furniture made up of 70 mono desks to the school on 14th January , 2019 .

The donation which was made at the request of the management of the school is to address some of the problems of the school with the objective of improving academic performance.

A delegation of the TARSCO Past Students Association led by the National President, Mrs Hannah Owusu-Koranteng presented the furniture to the school Authority at a short ceremony in the school attended by a section of students , teachers headmistress and the school administration .

In a speech prior to the presentation, Mrs Hannah Owusu-Koranteng recalled that TARSCO has a long history of excellent academic performance and there are records to indicate that some of the pioneers of the school topped some of the subjects of the West Africa Examination Council .

She encouraged the students to improve on the academic performance of the school . Mrs Owusu-Koranteng assured the school of the continued support of the TARSCO Past Students Association to make TARSCO the best school in the country.

Prof. Samuel Ndru , Senior Lecturer of the University of Mines and Technology ( UMaT) and a Past Student of TARSCO encouraged the girls to work hard in the sciences to take advantage of opportunities in the Universities especially UMaT which shares common boundary with Tarkwa Senior Secondary School.

Receiving the furniture ,Madam Paulina Manu, the Headmistress of the school thanked the Past Students of TARSCO for their continued support for the school and assured them that the school administration would put the furniture to good use.

The representatives of the students expressed their appreciation to the Past Students Association of TARSCO for continuously supporting them with donations that would create a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

Members of the delegation of TARSCO Past Students Association were Mr Bedai , Prof. Samuel Ndru, Mr Boateng (current Assistant Headmaster of TARSCO), Mr Smith who is the current Senior House Master of TARSCO, Ms Patience Konduah , Mr Takyi, and Rev. Akroway .
