Retired Major Sulemana Abubakari is now the substantive chief of the Tolon traditional area in the Dagbang Kingdom of the Northern Region.

He is among the first four appointed cabinet members of Yaa-Naa Abukari Mahama II.

He assumes full responsibility for the Tolon traditional area following the successful performance of his late father, Tolon-Naa Sulemana Alhassan's funeral which was climaxed on Friday March 22, 2019.
