Madam Belinda Dokua Yeboah, the HRM and Mr. Kwabena Kumi, Administrator
MyNewsGh.om has confirmed that the Human Resource Manager (HRM) and Administrator of the Koforidua Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) have been fired by management of the facility over their alleged involvement in a GH¢260,000 scandal.
The two senior officers were said to have conspired and taken GH¢4,000 each from some 65 temporal workers of the facility to regularize their employment but failed to live up to the task.
Madam Belinda Dokua Yeboah, the HRM and Mr. Kwabena Kumi, Administrator at the blind side of the management and Board of the hospital, forced their victims to contract loans from financial institutions at high-interest rates just to ensure that they were made a permanent staff.
It, however, turned out for more than one and a half years, they were unable to fulfill their part of the bargain as promised their victims who suspected they might have been duped.
When contacted, both admitted to MyNewsGh.com that they had indeed received monies from the affected staff with the promise of regularizing their employment through the back door at the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD).
According to them, they were disappointed by their link man at the CAGD they failed to name but promise to refund the monies to their victims which was also not forthcoming for a little over a year.
Mr. Kumi disclosed that that, he and Madam Yeboah deposited the money into a new account they opened at the Koforidua branch of Omni Bank which was later withdrawn and put in investment at Gold Coast Security.
When asked whether she sought the concern of the workers before using their money for investment at Gold Coast Security and why they did not give the money they collected to the accountant of the hospital, a traumatized Human Resource Manager broke down into tears
Madam Yeboah also told management that, the money has since been locked up with Gold Coast Security and attempts to retrieve it proved futile.
The Country Director of SDA Hospitals Pastor Dr. Paul Amo Kyeremeh when contacted confirmed the story and without mincing words stressed that the church has not asked any person or group of people to use backdoor arrangements to have financial clearance for its workers.
According to SDA Hospital Director, the church would not tolerate and overlook any practice that would dent the hard earned reputation and its facilities and would accordingly punish any person or group of people who indulges in these dubious acts.
The two have therefore been fired while investigations are being conducted into the incident and could be referred to the police to face criminal proceedings.
