Western North Regional Minister, Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu
Concerned youth of Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region has called on their Regional Minister, Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu to apologise to them for 'attacking' the Paramount Chief of Sefwi-Wiawso Traditional Council, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama II.
This follows a petition written by the Regional Minister to the Local Government Minister to sack his Deputy, Alex Tetteh for disrespecting his authority.
In the petition, the Regional Minister accused the President of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council for supporting the Deputy Minister to change the site for the construction of a Regional Coordinating Council Office.
In a four-page letter to the Local Government Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama, dated 11 June 2019, the Minister enumerated several reasons why his Deputy Minister must be questioned.
Some of the reasons he outlined include the Deputy Regional Minister convening a Regional Security Council meeting without his knowledge, issuing security orders to counter his own orders and conniving with a chief to change the site for a Regional Coordinating Council office.
Western North Region was created out of Western Region to develop the area rapidly. After the creation, President nominated the Member of Parliment for Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai, Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu and approved by Parliament as the Regional Minister for the area four months ago and Hon. Alex Tetteh was chosen as his Deputy but since two personalities assumed the affairs, the Region has not seen peace.
In a statement issued and signed by the group's Spokesperson, Kwame Nkuah Okumdom, copied to GhanaWeb's Correspondent indicated that "In the letter the minister tried to tarnish the hard earned reputation of the Overlord of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional area, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama by bringing/drawing Katakyie's name into his dirty, myopic, naive and evil style of politicking of which he the minister is noted for".
The statement opined that "The self acclaimed Anhwiaso Royal Crown Prince should at least know better that you can't use words anyhow on traditional authorities and the elderly in general, but he went ahead and reported Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama to the Local government minister that, he (Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama) has Connived with the deputy western North regional minister (Hon Alex Tetteh) to undermine him".
The concerned youth therefore found the Regional Minister's act to be very insulting to the very good people of Sefwi-Wiawso Traditional Council.
They are by this release asking the Regional Minister to render an unqualified apology to the Paramount Chief and entire Traditional Council.
They added that failure to do so will incur their wrath on him.
"...and for that matter he must render an unqualified apology to the very good people of Wiawso Traditional Area and especially our overlord, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama. We are giving the regional minister 48hours to render this apology, if he fails to do that he will incur our wrath...!", they emphasized.

Our attention has been drawn to a letter written and signed by the Western North Regional Minister, Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu who is also the MP for Bibiani/ Anhwiaso/Bekwai constituency.
In the letter the minister tried to tarnish the hard earned reputation of the Overlord of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional area, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama by bringing/drawing Katakyie's name into his dirty, myopic, naive and evil style of politicking of which he the minister is noted for.

To worsen matters the regional minister had the effrontery to leak this letter to his babies with sharp teeth on social media just to denigrate and paint Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama black in the sight of people.
We find this act and comments to be very insulting to the very good people of Wiawso traditional area and for that matter he must render an unqualified apology to the very good people of Wiawso Traditional Area and especially our overlord, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama. We are giving the regional minister 48hours to render this apology, if he fails to do that he will incur our wrath...!
We further call on the appointing authorities to call this block headed, good for nothing and incompetent regional minister to order, he must be oriented on how to talk to traditional authorities.
