Nana Asamoah Boateng, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie Central, has inspected some ongoing projects in the District to monitor the progress of work and address challenges where necessary.
The DCE who was accompanied by a team of officials from the Assembly, also wanted to learn at first hand, the quality of work being executed by the various contractors to ensure value for money.
He began his tour by inspecting a dining hall, a six-unit classroom block and girls’ dormitory, which are at various stages of completion at the Jacobu Senior High School.
Other projects inspected were six-unit classroom block with library, police station and a mechanized borehole at Aketechieso, 12-unit classroom block at Apitisu and a six-unit classroom block for Tweapease Senior High School.
The rest are a mechanized borehole at Mile 15, mechanized borehole at Domeabra and nurses’ quarters, CHPS Compound and mechanized borehole at Oseikrom.
Addressing the media after the inspection, the DCE said it was important for the Assembly to closely monitor the work of contractors executing projects in the District to avert possible shoddy work. This, he said, was imperative considering the huge funds invested in such capital projects, which sought to address pressing needs of beneficiary communities.
He said though officials from the works department of the Assembly, had been monitoring and presenting reports on the projects, it was still imperative for him to be abreast with what was really happening at the project sites.
Nana Boateng also charged the Assembly and unit committee members of beneficiary communities to show keen interest in projects in their localities as direct beneficiaries.
The DCE touted the massive infrastructural development projects that the District had received since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) assumed office in 2017, and stressed the need to maintain the Party to ensure sustainable development.
He expressed satisfaction about the work of the contractors and urged them to deliver on time.
