Bantama CACI Central donates to five needy institutions in Ashanti Region

The Kumasi Bantama branch of the Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), has donated cash and food items worth GH?33,000.00 to five needy institutions in Ashanti Region.

The beneficiary institutions were Central Destitute Infirmary at Bekwai, Remar Rehabilitation Center at Edwinase, SOS Children’s Village, Kumasi Children’s Home, and Garden City Special School.

The items included cartons of milk, bags of rice, toilet papers, detergents, cooking oil, baby and adult diapers, soft drinks, biscuits and an undisclosed amount of money.

Apostle Samuel Kwadwo Akomeah, the Area Head Pastor, who presented the items, said it was the duty of the Church to support the needy in society as was exemplified by Jesus Christ.

"It is scriptural to do this because the Bible has said we need to give to the poor,” adding that, it was the duty of every Christian to take these steps to give hope to such institutions which supported and gave hope to needy people in society.

Apostle Akomeah said the Church would continue to offer support to care-giving institutions to ensure that they provided quality service to the vulnerable and needy persons in society.

Mrs Esther Apraku Nyarko, a representative from the Department of Social Welfare, who received the items on behalf of the institutions expressed profound gratitude to the Church and pledged that they were going to use the items for its intended purpose.

She called on churches and other benevolent organizations to continue to support these institutions to enable them provide the support that would help improve the living conditions of people in care homes.
