Sunyani, July 10, GNA - Right Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of General Assembly of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, last Sunday expressed concern about the upsurge of indiscipline, criminality and immorality in the society in spite of the proliferation of churches in the country.
"While the growth of churches increased daily crime wave also increased. We need to reverse the trend," he added. Rt-Rev. Frimpong-Manso was delivering the sermon at the ordination of eight ministers of the church in Sunyani. It was on the theme "Christ Our Peace"
They were, Rev. Eric Polley Afrifa Addo, Rev. (Mrs) Beatrix Adjanor-Quarshie, Rev. Seth Adzokatse and Rev. Justina Ansah. The rest were Rev. (Mrs) Gladys Boakye-Yiadom, Rev. Daniel Brobbey, Rev. Francis Fiahenoo and Rev. Fosu Nana Osei Owusu. He advised Christians to work towards peace, security, justice and prosperity in the country.
Rt. Rev. Frimpong-Manso advised the ministers to serve as role models got their congregations and as matured ministers should be disciplined and responsible.
Mr Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister appealed to Christians to continue with prayers to help sustain the prevailing peace and tranquillity in the country.
He asked congregations in the church to provide the needed support and encouragement to the newly ordained ministers in their course of duty.
Rev. Adjanor-Quarshie on behalf of her colleagues pledged to work assiduously to transform and ensure growth and development of the church.
