Jamia Ahmadiyya International, Ghana, an international Islamic seminary and educational institute of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has passed out 14 Ahmadiyya missionaries with a call on them to be an embodiment of Islam.
The new missionaries, drawn from eight different countries in their seven years of study at the school, were taught the Holy Qur’an and its related subjects, the beautiful teachings of other religions and how they could bring harmony among them.
Alhaji Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, Ameer and Missionary in Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana who gave the admonition also entreated them to portray behaviours and attitudes that espouse the true meaning of Islam to redeem the negative image associated with it.
“We are at a time of turbulence in the world where the actions and inaction of Muslims have earned a bad image for Islam,” he noted and encouraged the missionaries to go out to present a true picture of Islam to disabuse the minds of people of the long held misconceptions about the peaceful religion.
“Here, efforts are made to ensure that students who pass through the school are purely refined and therefore you must go out there and proof to be an embodiment of Islam,” he advised.
Maulvi Salih underscored the need to produce better trained, knowledgeable, humble and ethically upright missionaries with both circular and religious knowledge to build a good image for Islam.
He explained that Jamia Ahmadiyya existed to prepare God fearing leaders who were well informed and took directives from a universal spiritual leader with the motive of disseminating peace.
In this regard, he said the institution would not renege on it aim of training the youth in the teachings of Islam, which many Muslims of today had forgotten.

He asked them to continually seek knowledge saying, “now as you enter the practical field, do not be content that you have learnt enough during these seven years and rather keep increasing you knowledge”.
He further cautioned them against being entrapped in materialism, which could create a distance between them and Allah and consequently plunge their spirituality into an abyss of darkness, stressing that they were to guide and impart the teachings of faith to the World.
Mr Yusif Jajah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso North Constituency, commended Ahmadi Muslims in Ghana for living a co-existent life with other Ghanaians of different faith.
He further lauded the Ahmadiyya Community for their immense contribution towards the development of the country.
