Italian-born Ghanaian defender Claud Adjapong has penned a new one year deal with Serie A side Sassuolo.
Adjapong was promoted to the first team two seasons ago and quickly won over former coach then manager Eusebio Francesco with assured performances.
The 19-year-old’s contract was expected to end in 2022 but following his desire to continue his stay at the Mapei Stadium-Città del Tricolore, he has been handed a one-year extension - which will keep his at the club until 2023.
Adjapong is expected to command a starting berth under new coach Roberto De Zerbi when the Serie A kicks off in three weeks time.
He made 16 appearances for the Neroverdi in the Serie A last season.
