Asante Kotoko defeated their Béninois counterparts Buffles Du Borgou 1-0 in a warm up friendly played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday.
A solitary strike by Emmanuel Gyamfi ensured victory for Porcupine Warriors who have stepped preparations ahead of their Africa Confederations Cup campaign that kick starts in February as they will lock horns with Club Athletic Renaissance Aiglon (CARA) from Congo.
The game started on the very cagey note with the Béninois side demonstrating their intent of getting on the scoring sheet as early as possible but Kotoko took the lead against the run of play in the 11th minute through Emmanuel Gyamfi who delivered a superb finish.
Kotoko took control of the game after going ahead and could have doubled their lead in the 17th minute from the penalty spot but Saddick Adams failed to convert from 12 yards as he blasted wide.
