Ghana Premier League returnees Great Olympics have completed the signing of goalkeeper Stephen Adams in the ongoing transfer window.

The former Aduana Stars custodian penned a one-year deal with the club after successful negotiations on Friday.

The Accra-based have beefed up their squad with the acquisition of Adams in their bid to revive their league campaign after losing their opening two games.

"I just finished signing the deal. It's just one season because I want to keep myself active," Adams told Zylofon FM.

"I moved to Olympics to get close to my family. I've been away from my family for so long because I was living Dormaa even when I was playing in the league so when the opportunity came to get close to my family I didn't hesitate.

"I joined the league to showcase my talent to Ghanaians once again. I want to show my fans that I'm still in top shape. I should have signed long ago but because we were playing inter-sites gala I put it on hold.

"I watched their game against Aduana and I was impressed with their play. They have experienced players so I'm praying we'll be able to perform well this season."

Adams left Ghana Premier League giants to join Zambian side Nkana FC on a three-year deal on a free in 2017.

However, the 2014 FIFA World Cup player had his contract terminated after just six months.

Adams was quizzed why he didn't re-sign for the Fire Boys after becoming a free agent.

"The journey is too far that's why I chose Olympics to get close to my family. Having played for them for so long, it's about time I get close to my family that why I decided against signing for them.

The 35-year-old was between the sticks when Aduana Stars won their first Ghana Premier League title in 2010.

Adams was an unused substitute at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil.
