Six Ghanaian players plying their trade in the German Bundesliga will resume action later this month after the federation in the European country was given the green light by the government to resume in the second half of May.

Fortuna Dusseldorf's Kasim Nuhu Adams, Kelvin Ofori, Bernard Tekpetey and Nana Ampomah are among the six players from the West African country who would be ecstatic about the news revealed on Wednesday.

Osei Wriedt of Bayern Munich and Christopher Antwi-Adjei of Paderborn are among the Ghanaians who are also delighted that they could be returning to action in the coming days.

The DFL will have a conference with the clubs tomorrow to discuss the details of the resumption of games.

Germany's Bundesliga football has been given permission to restart behind closed doors in the second half of May in a video conference of Chancellor Angela Merkel with state premiers.

The government has told the Bundesliga, according to Bild, that they can pick a date in that timeframe for a return. The earliest option available would see the first action played on May 15.

Chancellor Merkel held a meeting with the 16 heads of state on Wednesday morning at 10am to discuss Germany's plans for easing the lockdown – with some measures having already been lifted on Monday.

The Bundesliga had initially hoped to resume on May 9, although that was pushed back.
