Wayne Rooney helps Tanzania veep on who to support

Tanzanian Vice President, Mrs Samia Suluhu, is an ardent follower of the English Premier League.

Mrs Samia Suluhu, the Tanzanian Vice President, is an ardent follower of football and the English Premier League.

She, however, disclosed recently that she is torn between two PL clubs, Everton FC and league giants, Manchester United.

According to her, Wayne Rooney – former England and Manchester United captain, was her motivation to support United, with his move back to his childhood club, her loyalty is now hanging.

“Wayne Rooney made me support Manchester United and now I don’t know what to do because he has gone back to Everton,” she said.

The 57-year-old who is deputy of President Magufuli, represented her boss during a meeting with officials of Everton football club, who were on a pre-season tour of the country. She also graced Everton’s match with Kenyan side, Gor Mahia.



Rooney scored in the game with a long range effort as his side beat the hosts by 2 – 1. He responded to the Vice President’s predicament saying, “Being here it is a new experience for me and I hope the vice president will now be able to support Everton.”
