Atsu’s lifeless body was found under the rubble. His phone was also found.

Sadly, his death was announced by one of Atsu’s agents – Nana Sechere.

He said; “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well-wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning.”

According to sources, Atsu was an ambassador for the charity “Arms Around the Child”, which he was working alongside to help build a new school in Ghana, with the project already underway before his demise.

For that matter, ENGLISH Premier League club Newcastle United supporters group have started raising funds in honour of the late Christian Atsu, with the hope of finishing the former winger’s project of building a new school in Ghana.

According to the British Daily Mail newspaper, fans of Newcastle Club have raised more than £600 so far in an effort to complete what he started in his home country of Ghana.
