The new colour is to signify a foul between the normal yellow and red cards.
The rules for the green card in some tournaments are: "A player who receives a green card must leave the field of play immediately, but can be replaced if his team have not used all of their substitutes."
"A player receiving a green card is not excluded from his team's next match."
According to reports, the green card been issued previously in Italy's Serie B after an "act of virtue", or fair play, in the game.
The green card has also been used in a fair play capacity at grassroots level in Ireland.
Therefore, as speak now there are no plans to have the green card at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar 2022.
