The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that over 685,000 out of 2.3 million women diagnosed with breast cancer died.

People in the Ashaiman community, especially women have benefited from a free breast cancer screening to mark the end of breast cancer which kills a number of women daily.

Women from the ages of 20 to 68 years were screened and were eligible to be tested. They were also trained on how to perform breast self-examinations which is one of the early detection of breast cancer and other related diseases.

The Head of The Livingstone Foundation, Ms. Valentina said the goal of the exercise was to increase public “brand awareness” of breast cancer, its detection, treatment, and the need for a reliable, permanent cure, as well as to ramp up awareness campaigns to prevent people from becoming victims of breast cancer.

The event organized by The Livingstone Foundation (TLF) came off at the Divine Healers Church in Ashaiman.

The women who benefited from the screening thanked the foundation and emphasized the importance of early detection through medical consultations.
