Our Lady of Grace S.H.S conducted its first-ever entrance examination on 29th October 2022 to admit students into S.H.S 1 for the 2023 academic year.

Our Lady of Grace Senior High School is a Catholic Private Senior High School situated at Mamponteng, the municipal capital of the Kwabre East District in the Ashanti Region. Established in 2013, the school has the best infrastructure and a conducive environment that facilitate teaching and learning.

Following the release of the WAEC's timetable for the conduct of the 2022 BECE, OLAG SHS scheduled its entrance examination for 29th October 2022, a week just after the writing of the B.E.C.E. Subsequently, out of the 18 centres where the maiden examination was conducted, 15 centres wrote on the scheduled date while the remaining three; thus, Bono and Bono East regions, as well as St. Theresah’s school-Kaneshie in Accra, wrote theirs on 5th November 2022. Subjects written by the candidates were Mathematics, English Language and Integrated Science. Marking of the exams is underway and results are expected to be published by the first week of December 2022. Admitted students will start school on 10th January 2023.

A total of 574 candidates sat for the exams. “Being the first entrance examination ever conducted in the history of the school, it was a bit challenging” says the admission officer. With the help of some religious leaders, Parents and Basic school authorities, centres were secured across the country for the exams. These people also played a key role in publicity which resulted in the success of the exercise.

The decision of the school Board and Management to conduct an entrance examination to admit students into S.H.S 1 for the 2023 academic year was to ensure that all students start the first term of the academic year together. Information about the exams was first published on July 25th, 2022, on the school’s website and on all its social media handles to inform the general public about the new development.

The Headmaster remarked that the whole exercise was a great experience, and Management is looking forward with great anticipation to welcoming to school, successful candidates who will be admitted.
