As the New Patriotic Party prepares to go to the polls to elect the flagbearer to lead the party in the 2024 general elections, the political tension is brewing between Honourable Kennedy Agyapong and the Vice President of Ghana Dr Bawumia.

The recent campaign strategies and messages put across by some of these aspirants raises eye brows and for this reason Lawyer Maurice Ampaw hailed all but one of the aspirant Kennedy Agyapong's showdown campaign messages seems to irritate Lawyer Maurice Ampaw.
Honourable Ken jab his own party by saying the NPP lost the 2024 elections in 2022. He attributed this assertion to the significant depreciation of the Ghanaian cedi during that period.
The Ghanaian Cedi experienced a substantial devaluation against the US dollar, with its exchange rate dropping from 7 cedis to 1 dollar to as much as 15 cedis to 1 dollar hence having a profound impact on the economy, leading to a cascading effect where prices of essential commodities, including fuel and food, soared.
Speaking at one of his campaign rallies, dubbed 'Showdown Unity Walk' Agyapong confidently asserted that the NPP had effectively lost the 2022 elections due to the severe depreciation of the cedi.
Lawyer Ampaw on his Mmra ne Abrabo Mu Nsem programme on Sunday evening chastise honourable Kennedy Agyapong on his choice of words against his own party especially the good works of the President.
Lawyer Ampaw cannot fathom why Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin Central maverick politician should not go the delegates who are king makers to preach his good messages to canvass for their votes rather than the showdown platforms. Unlike Dr Bawumia, Dr Akoto Afriyie, the former Kwadaso MP and ersthwhile Agriculture Minister whose campaign messages are going on well.
The two out of the aspirants have demonstrated that they have the party at heart and are good to go rather than honourable Kennedy Agyapong whose messages is not benefitting the good works of the NPP.
"On whose record are you going to campaign? You can't show Ghanaians down so please give us a break. I dare you Ken, you don't have money than Osei Akoto. He is humble, showing humility, Ken is showing arrogance" Lawyer Ampaw fumed.
