The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned a world class state of the art Financial Industry Command Security Operations Centre (FICSOC) in Accra.

Speaking at the event in Accra, Dr. Bawumia congratulated the Bank of Ghana for being a pacesetter in Africa and charged financial industry players to take full advantage of the capabilities of the FICSOC, while continually strengthening in-house security operations.

The Financial Industry Command Security Operations (FISCO) is established and operated by the Bank of Ghana(BoG) and it's the first of its kind in Africa.

As the world faces growing cyber threats from criminals and it's imperative governments across the world especially in Africa put in place measures to minimize such threats and/or eliminate it's occurrence from the financial system.

In a Facebook post by Patriot TV, it it states that, "the centre is to prevent, rapidly detect, share information, and respond to cyber threats aimed at the financial industry and ultimately the entire country. All banks are connected to FICSOC and receive real time security alerts, intelligence and network traffic analysis on cyber threats".
