Superstar musician, lyricist, composer, and performer Kwabena VanDyke has spoken out about the difficulties of working in Ghana's music industry.
The 'kro kro me' composer claims that the lack of organised and professional record companies in Ghana is a major problem that has stifled the development of the field there. He thinks this is why so many unsigned musicians are having trouble making a living.
When asked to name some of the difficulties he sees in the Ghana music industry, he made this statement in a recent interview with Nana Kwame De Master Planner, host of the OC Showbiz Review Show on Skyypower 93.5 FM Takoradi, which is monitored by GhanaPrex.com.
We don't have a large record label in Ghana, and the ones we do have aren't very good, so it's tough to get in if you're an artist. This has been an isolated incident, which is troubling.
