National head trainer Dr. Ofori Asare and his assistants oversaw the programme.

Azumah Nelson, commonly known as "The Terrible Terror," was honoured on Saturday night at the Bukom Boxing Arena at Ghana Boxing League Fight Night Nine.

The champion received a special title belt from Miss Sarah Lotus Asare, Secretary of WBC Cares Africa, in the ring.

Abraham Neequaye, president of the Ghana Boxing Authority, and other board members backed her.

Dr. Ofori Asare, an Olympian medalist and expert boxing instructor, lauded Azumah Nelson for his contributions to Ghana and Africa in both professional and amateur boxing.

Coach Asare expressed the desire to instill the habit of attending school in young boxing enthusiasts and expressed the hope that corporate Ghana would provide some of them with scholarships.

He made hints that the Wisdom Boxing Gym would be organising a number of projects in the near future to elevate Ghana Boxing.

He exhorted the young fighters to follow in the footsteps of Ghana's legendary boxing warrior and work hard to imitate him.

For a long time, Samuel Azumah Nelson held the WBC featherweight and super featherweight titles. He received a nomination for the Boxing Hall of Fame.
