Mohammed Ali, a Tamale City defender, has agreed to join Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League ahead of the upcoming season.
The defender is claimed to have passed a physical before the move and is anticipated to be revealed soon by the Accra-based club.
Ali has also allegedly agreed to personal terms with the team and has departed Tamale City, who will compete in the Division One League next season.
The former AshantiGold centre-back joined the Tamale-based club in January 2023, but he was unable to keep the team afloat in the Ghana Premier League, as they were relegated on the final day.
Despite the team's setback, Ali's performances surprised Accra Lions, who came bottom in the league previous season as well.
They are aiming to use the 21-year-old's ability to address their defensive concerns from previous season.
Accra Lions will kick off their 2023/24 season against champions Medeama SC, who will also represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season.
