Georgina Acquah, age 53, is believed to have hanged herself at Nyankumase Ahenkro in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
On Thursday, July 27, 2023, she was discovered with approximately 1.5 yards of rope tied around her neck and hanging from a cocoa plantation near her residence.
Upon observing his mother hanging from a cocoa tree, the deceased's son, Emmanuel Acquah, alerted the residents and then contacted the police.
The police then arrived at the crime scene and discovered the victim in a supine position beneath the cocoa tree.
According to Emmanuel, he is stunned by his mother's death because she never told him she was ill.
He narrated that he was sleeping in the same room as his mother when he awoke to find that she was not there. Upon searching for her, he discovered her lifeless corpse hanging from a cocoa tree.
However, no signs of violence were discovered on the body. She was transported to the Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital, where she was pronounced clinically deceased.
Meanwhile, the cadaver has been preserved and examined at the same hospital mortuary.
