A fatal accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway on Sunday, September 3, 2023, claimed the life of one person and injured another.
The accident happened at about 5:30 pm, near the Tema Tollbooth. A taxi cab with registration number GE 7111-12 collided with a truck with registration number GT 5754-12.
The taxi cab driver was pronounced dead on the spot, while the passenger was taken to the Tema General Hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
This is the latest in a series of fatal accidents on the Accra-Tema Motorway. In recent months, there have been several accidents on the motorway, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries.
The Accra-Tema Motorway is one of the busiest roads in Ghana. It is a major route for commuters and freight traffic between the capital city of Accra and the port city of Tema.
