Two persons were killed in a chieftaincy dispute in Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region of Ghana on August 29, 2023. The incident happened when two factions of the royal family clashed over who should be the next chief of the area.

Body:

The two persons who were killed have been identified as Kwame Adu, 45, and Kwame Owusu, 35. They were both members of the Adonteng royal family.

The clash between the two factions reportedly started when one faction tried to install a new chief without the consent of the other faction. This led to a fight between the two sides, which resulted in the deaths of the two persons.

The police have since arrested four people in connection with the incident. They are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

The chieftaincy dispute in Nsawam-Adoagyiri is just one of many such disputes that have been taking place in Ghana in recent years. These disputes often lead to violence and death, and they have a negative impact on the communities in which they occur.
