Ghanaian singer DJ Azonto has described how his fame led him to spend Gh 200 at a waakye joint, but he was unable to eat any of the food.

The Fa No Fom hitmaker, in an interview with Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast based Property Radio, claimed he spent his money on those who came to buy waakye because of his fame.

He said: "After I became famous, my life changed but it has somewhat diminished the joy I used to get from doing the things I used to do.

"These days, I don't like my private life as much as I used to, and just a few days ago, we went to a waakye shop to get some," he said.

He said in an interview: "At the waakye joint, I had 200 cedis but I couldn't get any of the waakye to eat, but all the money was finished right there.”

"Everybody started calling me and they started buying the waakye in my name," he said.

He concluded on Showbiz on Property: "So I had to forfeit it and pay them all the money, so I couldn't eat until the 200 cedis was finished.”
