Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has verified that Ousmane Dembele will indeed join Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
It has occurred that the French club has already agreed personal terms with the winger.
According to the manager, Dembele told him of his decision to join PSG and revealed that the player spoke to Luis Enrique, PSG’s manager.
Xavi also said Barca can’t compete since PSG's bid for Dembele is huge and out of the market.
“It hurts me because we took care of him to make him happy here. But we can’t compete, he’s leaving”, Xavi declared openly.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Ousmane Dembélé has said yes to Paris Saint-Germain meaning that the initial green light to the proposal has arrived.
PSG has a verbally agreed five-year deal with Dembélé’s agent.
PSG has sent a formal letter to notify Barcelona, now making an effort, the best way to complete the deal — depends on timing.
“We need a pure right back. We have to reinforce the squad, I’m happy with the wingers we have but Dembélé's departure weakens us” Xavi said a few hours ago.
Xavi also attempted to ask Dembele the real reason behind his choice to join PSG but Dembele didn't answer in a clear way to the coach.
Xavi: “I asked Dembélé the real reason behind this choice to join PSG, he was happy here… well, he didn’t answer clearly”.
This makes the coach think it’s the personal reason that is why the player made such a decision.
PSG has NOT activated La Liga's €50m exit clause for Ousmane — expired and now valid for €100m.
By sending a formal letter to Barça, PSG activated a ‘private’ clause.
It makes Dembélé available for the same amount, €50m.
The deal is to be sealed by the end of the week.
