Bernard Allotey Jacobs has warned the New Patriotic Party not to choose any presidential candidate other than Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party prepares to elect its flagbearer on November 4.
Allotey Jacobs, who warned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Special Delegates Conference on August 26, 2023, against failing to elect Dr. Bawumia and the consequences, has justified why the latter is their best bet to win the 2024 elections.
According to him, Dr. Bawumia is a threat to John Dramani Mahama and the NDC.
"Bawumia's flagbearership will be the biggest threat to the existence of the NDC . . . the emergence of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be a threat to President John Mahama," he said in an interview DailyNewsGhana monitored.
Allotey added on Peace FM Morning Show that it will be best for NPP to elect Bawumia because he is "the best material that can change the Ghanaian perception, that can change the Ghanaian dynamics, that can change a lot of things in our political space".
The former NDC Central Regional Chairman, Bawumia's candidacy will send a strong signal to Ghana's northern sectors and win massive votes for the New Patriotic Party, reiterating that the 2024 election will be a "clash of the Northern Titans."
