After recently joining West Ham, Ghana's standout player, Mohammed Kudus, may face the unfortunate scenario of missing up to six matches. This absence could potentially coincide with Ghana's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Cote d'Ivoire, rendering him unavailable for a series of games.
These matches encompass West Ham's FA Cup third-round clash on January 6, 2024. Depending on Ghana's progress in the competition, Kudus might be absent from Premier League encounters against Sheffield United, Bournemouth, Manchester United, Arsenal, and conceivably Nottingham Forest.
He is expected to receive a few days of rest before rejoining the squad. Kudus made the move to the Hammers from Dutch powerhouse Ajax during the summer transfer window, making him the club's second most expensive signing after Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
Furthermore, West Ham will also be without Nayef Aguerd (Morocco), Said Benrahma (Algeria), and Maxwel Cornet (Ivory Coast) due to their participation in the tournament.
