With 15 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals, Nigeria won the three-day third Africa Zone 2 Junior Swimming and Open Water Championship at the University of Ghana's Sports Directorate.
With seven gold, eleven silver, and four bronze medals, Ghana came in second, and Benin came in third with seven gold, one silver, and one bronze.
The female performers were Ionnah Douillet of Benin and Zaira Forson of Ghana, while the male performers were Nigerian Kanu Chukwudi and Kpade Alexis of Benin.
The tournament, which was attended by 14 nations in West and Central Africa, including Ghana, was praised for being both remarkable and well-organized by Dr. Mohammed Diop of Senegal, President of Africa Aquatics Zone 2.
