Minority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu has supported the Ghana Education Service (GES) with 560 dual desks to be distributed among basic schools in the Tamale Metropolis.
Mr Iddrisu who is also the Member of Parliament for Tamale South presented a cash of Gh¢20,000 and Gh¢40,000 to the GES and the Tamale Girls Senior High School (Pagnaa) respectively.
The donation of the cash amount to Pagnaa is expected to be used to maintain and extend the general lightning system of Northern Region’s premier Girls School.
The Tamale South Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Abdul Rauf Zaa-Nyeya led the constituency executives of the party to make the donations on behalf of the Tamale South MP at a short ceremony in Tamale on Wednesday.
Seidu Abass Alhassan, the Tamale South Constituency Secretary of the NDC told Justicefmonline that this is not the first time the MP is making such presentations, recalling that last year, 2000 dual desks were presented to the GES.
He said the he Minority Leader will continue to support the advancement of education in the metropolis.
The Head Mistress of Pagnaa, Madam Ayisha Asumah commended the MP for the donation made to the school, saying that this was not the first time Mr Iddrisu has supported the school.
She recalled the presentation of several computers and its accessories to the school a few years by the MP as some of the remarkable support he has offered the school.
