In order to honor the combined efforts of the nation's forefathers in the struggle for freedom, President Akuffo Addo has justified designating August 4 as Founders' Day.
The President stated in a televised speech last night that Ghana is regarded as a beacon of democracy and stability in Africa, with the rule of law and respect for individual liberty, and that the efforts of the founding fathers led to the inclusion of the principles of democratic accountability in the governance structure.
He claimed that economic growth is something that the current generation might fight for and succeed in.
66 years after gaining its independence, our country is seen as an example of democracy and stability in Africa, where the rule of law upholds individual liberties and human rights.
